Time Periods

For those who aren't history majors, here's a simple breakdown of historical time periods which I use as tags for my recipes. A lot of the older recipes are characterized by the monarch in England at the time (ex. Victorian, Edwardian), while more recent recipes are by time period (ex. Atomic Age). I realize that this is promoting a very anglo-centric view of history, but it makes it easy to categorize, especially with recipes that do not have a confirmed date.

Medieval - 5th century to 15th century
    Early Middle Ages - 500 to 1000
    High Middle Ages - 1000 to 1300
    Late Middle Ages - 1300 to 1500
Renaissance - 14th century to 16th century
Early Modern - 16th century to 18th century
    Tudor - 1485 to 1603
Jacobean - 1603 to 1625
Modern - 18th century to 20th century
    Georgian - 1714 to 1830
    Victorian - 1837 to 1901
    Edwardian - 1901 to 1910
    World War One - 1914 to 1918
    Interwar - 1918 to 1939
    World War Two - 1939 to 1945
    Atomic Age - 1945 to 1969
Post-Modern - 1973 to present
